Description |
Artist's description of subject: Four black mushrooms, two white mushrooms, ferns and leaves, grass and one small beetle in left corner. Artist's description of mood, feeling, emotion, incident, etc. which provoked the work: I like the lacy ferns next to the solid mushrooms. Pictures, etc., of mushrooms are popular and fit in with my plants and animals interest area. The lines under mushrooms are fascinating. Artist's description of technique employed: Woodblock printing: I carve the white areas into a plank of wood ; using a brayer I transfer a sticky printing ink from a mixing plate to the wood. I place a piece of tableau paper on top of the ink and rub with a wooden spoon and hope I rub evenly and completely without smudges in the white areas. |
